About us

Live Loops is a professional music studio that I founded in the summer of 2023. At Live Loops, I produce, mix, and master a variety of musical instruments in many different genres, as well as filming professional quality music videos.

I have had experience with rock, pop, metal, soul, instrumental, and many other genres. I have also worked with guitarists, vocalists, bassists, drummers, and others.

Our Story

Live Loops didn't start out as the professional and consistent venture it is today. In the initial few months since its creation, I had almost no budget to spend on equipment, so I had to make do with what I already had, which, to be completely honest, was quite substantial, for someone who had made no money from music production at that point. However, it was still not enough to come even close to meeting the contemporary standard for audio and video, so I was forced to think outside the box.

It was clear to me that I desperately needed to improve my videos, which I was still taking on my smartphone, but I was far from having enough for a DSLR, so I bought an app on my phone which allowed me to control my camera settings, just like a real camera. This significantly improved my videos.

I also fashioned a DIY light softener out of PVC piping and a bedsheet, since I couldn't afford a softbox. Using help from a friend, I stitched the bedsheet tightly over a square made of PVC, so as to soften the light source before it fell on the subject. This is one of several makeshift pieces of equipment I created to improve my productions.

As I started making some profit, I slowly reinvested it back into the business, creating the Live Loops Music Studio that clients see today.

Performance at the Raft

My biggest job till date was a complete documentation of a musical recital at The Raft, a professional performance venue in Bangalore. I worked closely with the audio crew at the venue and with a friend of mine to capture the highest possible quality audio and video of the three hour performance. Following that, There were more than thirty hours of post-production: mixing, mastering, and syncing more than five instruments in a variety of genres. We recorded a raw stereo audio track of the entire performance, as well as two separate camera angles, to create as professional of an output as possible. The two main outputs of the production were a five-minute-long highlight reel, containing the best ten seconds of each performance, and a separately mixed, mastered, and colorgraded version of each individual performance. One of the biggest challenges I faced was managing and working with the enormous files in the production, given that the performance was more than three hours from start to finish, and everything was recorded in eight bit, and HD.

Yoga Sutras - Vibha

Vibha was nine years old at the time of the recording and had been learning to recite Sanskrit shlokas and other  religious texts for several years. The main challenge here was to adapt my style of production to a scenario which I was completely unfamiliar with. It took some effort to adapt the lighting and camera angles to suit her cross-legged seating position, and also to mix the audio in such a way that it enhances her pronunciation.  Overall, it was a test of my versatility as a producer.

I Have Nothing - Naomi Kamat

A dynamic and emotional vocal cover that I recorded with Naomi Kamat. Everything was captured at Live Loops, including audio and video. In this case, it was very important to the artist to maintain the natural color and dynamics of her voice, so we attempted to work together on that. All together, a very successful and fulfilling recording.

Oz0ne - Arjentum

A personal composition that I recorded and shot in Live Loops. My friend (who is a freelance videographer) and I recorded the video without any external help, except for the smoke machine that we rented from an agency. Together, we collaborated on editing and colorgrading the video, which we are both very proud of.

Silvera - Gaberiel

This was one of my earlier recordings, which was in a genre that I enjoy, and was very comfortable with at the time. In the video, I experimented with a very dark background, and some handheld filming techniques.

Our future

While I may not be around in the future to publicize my studio and push for new opportunities, the studio's work and accomplishments will always be available for anyone to discover, which is why I trust that new opportunities will find their way to us, both remote and local.
